“Let’s do this!” I said to myself as were going to depart to SMK Shah Alam on the 5th of April 2019. I remember that I felt nervous and excited at the same time to meet the girls and boys. In order to make this project financially successful, we went for funding and selling T-shirts. We also tried to organize activities that suit the students. Throughout the 3 days and 2 nights event, I could see the progress of the student’s participation.

At the beginning, some of them seem to be shy but as the days went by, I could see that they started to be active. It made me felt relieved. I think all of the activities are meaningful to the students and even to me that it creates beautiful memories. I hope it benefits the students now and even in the future. Activities like interview simulation and sharing session, made me felt closer to them as they could share their problems and I could try to give them advice on it.

Furthermore, seeing the students enjoying the game during explorace activity, I felt like going back to my older days in secondary school. I felt like wanting to join them! Sadly, I was the photographer during the explorace so there isn’t a picture of me during the explorace. I didn’t even actually think to take a picture of me because I was busy taking picture of the students. I should’ve done that! Other than that, I also really impressed with the students creativity through Go Green activity which they need to use recycle things to create a fashion costume.

As one of the judges, it was really hard for me to choose the winners because all of the group did beyond my expectation! Despite the fact that this project is a success, I think that there’s still something lack throughout the project because most or some of us don’t really have the experience organizing this kind of event. I can say that some of us don’t really know what kind of responsibility that a facilitator holds and how to work as a team. Nevertheless, I still feel blessed and thankful to all of my members that make this project happen.

Lastly, this social engagement course makes me realized how much I love doing social activity and how much I wanted to contribute to the community. As I’m currently doing volunteering project in my college, it motivates me to keep on doing it and joining other social project in the future.
