Social Engagement project was a very diverse experience for me as an international student. I had to go through various things that I had never experienced before. The Social engagement “Youth Attack” project was an optimistic experience.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish”

Before executing this event we had to go through several tasks. Previously we were group 14 then we were merged with group 13. We had meeting for couple of weeks to make the workbook. We selected people for different position. Then we segregated all into small groups for fund rising. We prepared T-shirts for this event. This pre-event process was very exciting. Because of everyone’s honest contribution we had our blueprint in hand before the event.

Through the event days we ran different activities. We divided them into small groups by naming them with Marvel characters. They liked it very much. Every group had their unique cheers. After that we had some session to give them an exposure of post-SPM life and the corporate world. We did interview simulation to show them how interview works and how to approach it. On the following day we ran station games for them. I Was in charge of station 1. They enjoyed it a lot. We shared our feelings. Next day we had zumba session and other interesting activities. Finally we finished our event by prize giving ceremony. The principal honoured and showed gratitude to us for executing such event. Finally we successfully finished it.

From this project I have realized the power of teamwork. I’ve learned how to follow instruction, give instruction.I’ve learned the wisdom of working out of comfort zone and the art of working in a synergized environment. This event won’t be forgotten.
