To begin with; it was exhausting. but forever worth it.
I remember the first day when they assigned the group, my name was not on the list. I was like; Phew. But then Several weeks later, they(fpp) sent me a notice that im alreay i group. so i check it online, I was like WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? it was kind off nerving to meet them first, even were in the same faculty. But then they turned oiut very nice, friendly and cooperative. I felt so bad at the time, because all of them already working it out with the social engagement from calling the charity house to planning for sponsorship. I don't want to be freerider nor a hindrance. so for every meeting I'll try to attend, and even I try to give my humblest opinion and input.
When they say, they want to do a Leadership camp, I was a bit disagree, but when we change it to a career/ after SPM centric Camp. I gave out a sigh of relieve. I just knew it, it was something that I always wanna do-- Sharing my experience.
They say dont cry over spilt me. Yes its true. but then at this point of my life i was full of regret. i wasted two years doing architecture, and now started over from scratch, doing accounting. With this in mind, i purposely put myself in the "Journey after SPM" Slot. I know what i want to say.
When we first arrive to SMK Shah Alam, I was quite nervous,
"what if we misled them? what if they found us boring? what if the teachers doesnt like our way?"
WELL TURNED OUT EVERYTHING IS FINE. EVEN BETTER.
The students to enjoy themselves. They had a blast. And what important is, They Immerse themselves in our event, Gain something from it! KUDOS to my friends, Especially, Syafiq, Jia Jie and Shahidan. They definitely put the most efforts for Youth Attack! Even i was inspired from them, not just the students.
My group, Hulk, I would say very active especially with the presence of Alya, The Best Participant (Honestly i was very proud) The team was very fun to work with. You know, I actually don't like to deal with teenagers, but with them? IT WAS SUPER FUN. it just open my eyes how we should deal with everyone equally. As someone older, we should give them guidance even if the age gap only 4 years.
For My slot, Journey after SPM, i was partnered with Hafizah, She was very cool and nice person to work with. we divided the slot into two part- with her, she will explain the journey, a.k.a matrix, STPM, etc. But my session? I want to let them know themselves first before embark into the journey. I carried out a personality test. they say Hollande career test can predict the best what suiting them. but then its too complex, so i simplified It. Honestly, they seems intrigued by their results. it is not very common in Malaysia this test, But then, I dont want them to fully use the result as guidance, I want them to put their passion first. After all, humans are complex.
They definitely give their full attention to us.(Thank god). I really want them to understand what my main point is (Follow YOUR passion!) money, parents, talents should always come second. Im sure they get that as i kept saying that, even during inspire to aspire i said the same thing. really, it seems simple, but so many regretted and as they say, its no use to cry over spilt milk.
I learnt and done so much,-- from photography, giving talks, dancing and blogging, bonding with the students. Never a bit i regret it. I want them all to make something out of it. I want them to be happy, success in life. Not just SPM, but forever, deep from the bottom of my heart.
